Mariam Thresia Pubic School, Poovathussery is an English Medium School following the Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE), which is an internationally accepted system of education. The school started in 2003 is managed and run by Jeevodaya Educational Agency; Congregation of the Holy Family (CHF).The CHF was founded in 1914, in Kerala by Blessed Mariam Thresia. It is now a world -wide organization which runs more than 200 educational institutions (professional and Technical schools), Houses for Orphans, Medical Institutions, Family Renewal Centres, Family Training and Research Centres and Family Counselling Centres, Mother Mariam Thresia (1876-1926), founress of CHF, lived at a time when women in Kerala were strictly confined to family circle. Filled with love of God and dedicated herself in serving individuals and families beset with problems. She was pioneer in family Apostolate Ministry in India. She started a school in 1915 for training up God-fearing and integrated persons who would be builders of ideal families and society for the future generations. It is this dream and insight of Mother Mariam Thresia, which is the inspiration behind the starting of Mariam Thresia Pubic School by CHF Jeevodaya Province. It is a Christian minority school with all the privileges that accrue from such status.
